Hello,
Living an active life began early for me. As a child I rode my bike everywhere, including swimming and track practice. I also rode and trained horses. Therefore, it was natural for me to enroll in a physical education and sports science college degree program. I graduated from one of Europe's best sports colleges in Cologne, Germany (Köln), the German Sport University of Cologne (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln) with a Masters Degree.
During my studies I competed in the Modern Pentathlon, with five disciplines including running, swimming, shooting, fencing and horseback riding. It was an amazing experience that took me to many competitions throughout Europe. Unfortunately, my career in the Modern Pentathlon was derailed by a serious calf muscle injury from fencing.
During college and after I graduated, I worked as a research assistant with professional athletes at one of the Institutes at my college. Even though the work was very interesting, I felt there was something missing.
It was after the death of my grandmother a few years later that I realized what was missing. It was the mind, body, and spirit connection. In my Grandmother's last days, while being officially "unconscious" after suffering a stoke, I felt a presence from her that could not be accounted for with my regular senses. I felt her in the whole room ever so lovingly around me.
Spurned by that amazing realization, I enrolled in a holistic health program and studied to become a licensed holistic health practitioner in Germany. I still hold that license today.
After that experience, I truly felt my calling and realized the importance of treating the body as a whole. Throughout my training I realized the body's ability to self-correct and heal. I will always be in awe of its perfection and intelligence.
I eventually added massage therapy to my training and became a licensed and nationally certified massage therapist. In 2003, I started taking classes in CranioSacral Therapy (CST) at the prestigious Upledger Institute in Florida. I was fascinated by the powerful, life-changing outcomes gained by such a gentle, light-touch therapy. I was hooked after the first class and am now an advanced therapist.
Since then my own health has improved dramatically. The fencing injury and the severe back spasms related to childbirth are all gone. I now enjoy a very active and absolute pain-free life. My life is filled with giving the gift of health, being an enthusiastic athlete - I practice acrobatics, yoga and Pilates, playing with our three children and walking our two dogs etc.
After many years of training in a wide range of therapies and personal-growth tools, I have synthesized it all into a powerful method of helping you reach a new dimension in health. The pain and limitations you are feeling now can be transformed into a sense of freedom, empowerment, joy and new personal athletic records.
