Powerful Therapy for Powerful Transformations

This subtle form of therapy is often overlooked. Here is more information on the wonderful tool that has the potential to increase inner peace, clarity and decrease pain and discomfort.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

is a gentle hands-on that facilitates the body's natural ability to heal

it releases tension in the central nervous system (CNS) so the entire body can relax and self correct

is performed fully clothed on a comfortable massage table

allows old injuries and patterns to be released without pain and discomfort

it naturally relieves pain and dysfunction

The History of CranioSacral Therapy

Dr. William Sutherland (1873 - 1954), an osteopath, was the first physician to realize that the 22 bones that make up the cranium (skull) can shift at their joints - the sutures.

He also recognized the very subtle rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid as it gently moves up and down the spinal canal and brain. There are four ventricles in the brain that produce this all-encompassing fluid.

Dr. Sutherland called this rhythm the "Breath of Life". In his book "Contributions of Thought" (1967) he refers to the ancient about 4000 year old technique of very gentle touch with intention that can soothe the heart and detect the body's rhythms.

Dr. Sutherland was the first osteopath who intensely researched CranioSacral Therapy.

This was continued by Dr. John Upledger, DO, FAAO, in 1971. More by accident than intention. Dr. Upledger was asked to assist a surgery to the cervical area for removal of extradural calcifications, when the neurosurgeon asked him to hold the dural tube as the physician was removing plaque from the area. It was then that he realized that the spinal tube kept moving even though he used forceps to hold on. As much as Dr. Upledger started feeling rather embarrassed for not being able to fulfill a rather simple task, he started counting the rhythm of the movement and counted a cycle of 8 movements per minute. This rhythm was independent of the rhythm of the heart and lungs.

Soon thereafter Dr. Upledger started his own research which lead to an amazing curriculum for all those interested in this field, even those who practice outside the realm of osteopathy, like physical, occupational and massage therapists.

Dr. Upledger taught that the rhythm can be felt in any part of the body, and can change in symmetry, quality, amplitude and rate depending upon restrictions in the area. These restrictions were present in many conditions of Dr. Upledger's patients, including headaches, chronic pain, neurological diseases, autism and developmental problems.

Changes in the rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid
are not only clues for the practitioner in how to treat the patient, but also were objectively measured in research settings with the use of mechano-electric technology such as electrocardiography and electromyography machines.

With research studies supporting his CranioSacral Therapy theories, Dr. Upledger was able to prove that CranioSacral Therapy is based on scientific findings and can be objectively measured.

When you are recovering from an injury or interested in becoming the best athlete and person you can be, you need more than just symptom relief.

You need:

~
To relieve the tension in your body that has been slowly building up over time and that keeps re-triggering the same or similar symptoms all the time.

~ To learn to let go of emotional patterns that are in the tissues and cells and are hindering you from being all you can be. You may or may not be consciously aware of them, but your cells always are. These patterns can lead for old fears and limiting beliefs to come up again and again.

~ To learn to retrain your old patterns into new, strong and positive new ones. It is like training an atrophied muscle group that has been neglected fro a long period of time. Practice, Practice, Practice.

~ An experienced health professional who can lead you gently and safely through these processes.

What does this mean to you?

A true transformation:

Long-lasting freedom from pain and injury

Improved athletic performances in a very natural and healthy way

Improved sleep

Increased overall level of energy and enthusiasm

An improved relationship with you body, so you can listen to the subtle clues it gives you before problems occur

A greater sense of control over your life

A deep sense of inner peace no matter happens around you

Great Happiness

Increased Clarity

Increased Confidence

Increased Creativity

More Abundance in your life

Better Problem Solving Skills
