What is a Session Like?

For a CranioSacral therapy session the client lies fully-clothed on the massage table. No oils or traditional massage strokes are used.

The session begins with a moment of centering and connecting. The therapists hands will most likely be on the feet or head to feel the CranioSacral rhythm.

After this initial assessment the hands will be placed on different areas of the body. They may even be far away from the area of complaint, but everything will eventually fall into place. The hands will follow the body's lead and support it's ability to heal itself.

For the clients the CranioSacral treatments are most often deeply relaxing. There can be a sense of dropping or deepening into the area the therapist is working on as well as a pulsing or a spreading warmth.
It can be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the body - to nurture more awareness of the body's state of being and needs.

After a session, clients may feel energized and enthusiastic, tired or a little scattered or introverted.  There is a chance of falling asleep during a session due to the increased relaxation. A very healing place that is.

Some clients feel changes right away, others do not feel anything at first, but notice a change over the next period of 24-48 hrs. In any event, great, even though at times subtle, chances occur every time a treatment is received. It is a wonderful journey.

It is recommended to initially receive at least 2-3 treatments no more than a week apart to fully benefit from the changes.
